Terence McKenna
Terence McKenna, born in 1946, was an American writer, explorer, and scientist who dedicated the last twenty-five years of his life to investigating the ontological foundations of shamanism and the ethnopharmacology of spiritual transformation.
He graduated in Ecology, Resource Conservation, and Shamanism from the University of California, Berkeley, USA. McKenna was the founder of Novelty Theory (a branch of fractal dynamics) and specialized in shamanism and ethnomedicine in the Amazon basin. In co-authorship with his brother, Dennis, he wrote two works in 1975 and 1976. In 1992, he published The Bread of the GodsThis was followed by the publication of a book of essays and conversations and a collection of discussions with mathematician Ralph Abraham and biologist Rupert Sheldrake. Terence McKenna would eventually pass away in the year 2000.
