Tânia Matos

Tânia Matos was born in Covilhã in 1986. Andreia Melo was born in Cascais in 1984. They started working at the age of 16 to have freedom of choice, an achievement they quickly realized was inseparable from money. They met in Lisbon in 2009, when they both began their careers in banking. After several years working in this area, they realized that the topic of money was a "headache" for the vast majority of Portuguese people and that financial illiteracy was a serious problem in the country. Trying to change this reality, they decided to found, in 2021, the Accounts Up to DateThis project aims to democratize access to financial literacy, enabling everyone to understand and implement essential teachings for a healthy financial life. Currently, they are "the bank's best friends" within a community of over 50,000 followers on social media. School of Personal Finance, which they publish through Contraponto, is their first book.
