T. A. Barron é um autor norte-americano com mais de 30 obras publicadas, entre romances, livros infantojuvenis e sobre a conservação da natureza, muitos deles bestsellers internacionais. Foi premiado com o Nautilus Award, um prémio que é atribuído a obras que inspiram um mundo melhor, e recebeu também diversas distinções por parte da American Library Association e da International Reading Association. Foi ainda distinguido, em 2011, com a USM Medallion pela sua inestimável contribuição para a literatura infantil e juvenil.
