Suzanne Daveau (1925-), Doutora ès Lettres pela Universidade de Paris-Sorbonne (1957), personalidade marcante da Geografia portuguesa, foi professora nas Universidades de Besançon (1950/52 e 1964/65), Dakar (1957/64), Reims (1967/68) e Lisboa (1970/93).
Investigadora do Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (1953/1966) e do Centro de Estudos Geográficos da Universidade de Lisboa (1966/2012), onde coordenou dezenas de projetos de investigação científica.
A sua bibliografia conta centenas de títulos repartidos por vários domínios da Geografia, particularmente, da Geomorfologia, Climatologia, Geografia regional, Geografia histórica e História da Geografia e da Cartografia, e Cartografia temática.
É doutora Honoris Causa pelas Universidades de Lisboa (1997), Coimbra (1998) e Porto (2001).
