Susie Orbach é professora convidada da London School of Economics e co-fundadora do Women’s Therapy Centre, em Londres, e do Women’s Therapy Centre Institute, em Nova Iorque. Escreveu, entre outros, FAT IS A FEMINIST ISSUE I e II, livros que revolucionaram o tratamento da compulsão alimentar nas mulheres, e O QUE QUEREM AS MULHERES?.
Tornou-se mundialmente conhecida por ter sido a psicóloga da princesa Diana de Gales.
Em 2004 elaborou, com Nancy Etcoff, da Universidade de Harvard, o relatório "A Verdade sobre a Beleza" que deu origem à CAMPANHA PELA BELEZA REAL, da Dove/Unilever.
