Susana Amaro Velho nasceu em Mafra em março de 1986. Estudou Jornalismo e Solicitadoria e trabalha atualmente como freelancer na área da comunicação.
Publicou o seu primeiro romance em 2017. Em 2022, foi a primeira autora portuguesa a integrar a chancela Aurora, com Inquieta, onde também viria a reeditar Bairro das Cruzes. Participou no projeto coletivo O Sono Delas e, em 2024, publicou Descansos, distinguido pela revista NiT como Melhor Livro do Ano.
Vive numa aldeia, entre o sossego e o caos feliz de uma casa com três filhos pequenos. As Últimas Linhas Destas Mãos, o seu romance de estreia, é agora reeditado numa edição totalmente revista.
