Stéphane Servain, nascido em 1970 nos Alpes, começou a interessar-se pelo desenho realista ao descobrir os trabalhos de Victor De la Fuente e Raymond Poivet. A banda desenhada acabou por impor-se ao ler as obras de Cosey e Hermann, cuja força narrativa constitui uma base importante do seu próprio trabalho. Em 1990, Guy Delcourt o convidou para participar da segunda obra de Les Enfants du Nil, depois publicou pela mesma editora Le Traque Mémoire com Christophe Gibelin, L’esprit de Warren com Luc Brunschwig e Histoire de Siloë com Serge Le Tendre. Por fim, assinou um díptico com Valérie Mangin na Soleil, Le Livre de Skell, e iniciou uma nova série, Holly Ann, na Casterman, em parceria com Kid Toussaint.
