Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg, stage name of Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., was born on October 20, 1971, in Long Beach, California. Considered a rap legend and one of the most recognizable figures in pop culture, Snoop Dogg began his career in the early 90s and quickly became one of the biggest names in hip hop. Known for his smooth and distinctive voice, as well as his relaxed and laid-back style, Snoop Dogg has helped define the gangsta rap and G-funk scene with his unique sound.

Snoop Dogg gained notoriety in 1992 when he was discovered by Dr. Dre, who included him on his debut album The Chronic (1992). His first solo album, Doggystyle (1993), was a huge success, being one of the best-selling albums in hip hop history. With tracks like "Gin and Juice" and "What's My Name?", the album cemented Snoop as one of the stars of gangsta rap and G-funk, a subgenre characterized by slow, heavy beats, synthesizers and smooth vocals. Doggystyle marked the beginning of his long and successful career, and Snoop Dogg quickly became a hip hop icon.

Throughout his career, Snoop Dogg continued to release a series of successful albums, such as Tha Doggfather (1996), No Limit Top Dogg (1999) and Paid Tha Cost to Be Da Boss (2002). Although he was initially known for his lyrics about street life and drug use, over the years, Snoop has evolved as an artist, diversifying his style and tackling a range of broader topics. On albums such as R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece (2004), he also explored themes of partying, love, and success.

In addition to his music career, Snoop Dogg has also become a central figure in popular culture. He expanded his presence into the world of film, television and business. He has appeared in several films and television shows, including the popular reality television series Snoop Dogg's Father Hood (2007) and the film Training Day (2001), for which he received critical acclaim. Snoop has also been involved in several entrepreneurial endeavors, being a successful entrepreneur, including his collaboration with Calvin's beverage brand and its line of cannabis products, which reflect his involvement with marijuana culture.

Snoop Dogg has also gone through several phases of reinvention in his career. In 2012, he announced that he would convert to Rastafarianism and adopt the name Snoop Lion, releasing a reggae album, Reincarnated. However, he later returned to using the name Snoop Dogg, maintaining his identity as a rap icon, but always with an eclectic and adaptable approach.

With a career spanning more than 30 years, Snoop Dogg continues to be one of the most important figures in hip hop and popular music. His influence extends beyond music, and he has become a cultural icon who helped define the sound and aesthetic of '90s rap, while staying relevant over the decades. Snoop Dogg is not only one of the best-selling and most awarded artists in hip hop history, but also a multifaceted figure who continues to make his mark on various industries.
