Siobhán Parkinson nasceu em Dublin, na Irlanda, em 1954.
Estudou literatura inglesa e alemão e fez um doutoramento em literatura inglesa.
Siobhán trabalhou muitos anos como editora antes de se dedicar à escrita.
Hoje é uma das principais autoras de livros infantojuvenis da Irlanda, com obras traduzidas em várias línguas, desde o dinamarquês ao tailandês.
Escreveu mais de 30 livros e foi a primeira autora infantojuvenil irlandesa premiada internacionalmente.
Por entre os inúmeros prémios e distinções que já recebeu destacamse o White Raven e o IBBY Honour for Fiction.
Siobhán Parkinson vive em Dublin, a sua terra natal, com o marido.
