Simão Lucas Pires nasceu em Lisboa, em 1990. Concluiu o mestrado em Filosofia na Universidade Nova de Lisboa e tem estudado sobretudo o pensamento de Blaise Pascal — em particular as reflexões acerca da extraordinária aspiração dos homens e da extraordinária incompetência para lhes dar resposta. Dá aulas no Colégio São Tomás. Escreveu críticas literárias no jornal Observador. A Trombeta Vaga é o seu primeiro livro.
