Serhiy Zhadan

Serhij Zhadan nasceu em 1974, perto de Lugansk, na Ucrânia de leste.
Estreou-se como escritor aos 17 anos e desde então publicou cinco romances, mais de uma dezena de livros de poesia, bem como teatro, contos e ensaios políticos.
É considerado um dos mais importantes escritores ucranianos da atualidade e a sua obra está traduzida em mais de 17 línguas.
Recebeu vários prémios literários, entre os quais o Jan Michalski Literature Prize 2014 e o Brücke Berlin Prize for Literature and Translations 2014 com o romance Voroshilovgrad, também considerado pela BBC Ukraine o Livro da Década.
Aclamado pela crítica internacional, Internato, publicado em 2017, foi nomeado para o Angelus Award 2022 e vencedor do EBRD Literature Prize 2022. Também no ano de 2022, Serhij Zhadan recebeu o Prémio Hannah Arendt.
