Sergio Rubin é o jornalista que há mais tempo acompanha o atual Papa e possui o melhor conhecimento da sua personalidade. Muitos consideram-no o "biógrafo oficial". Ele é um dos nomes mais relevantes do jornalismo na Argentina, e assina regularmente nas páginas do Clarín, o jornal nacional de referência. Acompanhou também João Paulo II em muitas das suas viagens e, entre outras personalidades, entrevistou Madre Teresa de Calcutá.
