Sasa Stanisic

Sasa Stanisic’ nasceu em 1978 numa pequena cidade da Bósnia, filho de mãe bósnia e pai sérvio. Com 14 anos, algumas semanas depois da ocupação da sua cidade-natal pelas tropas sérvias, Sasa Stanisic fugiu com os pais para o exílio no Sul da Alemanha, onde vivia um tio seu. Aí, completou o ensino secundário, tendo posteriormente feito Estudos Germânicos e Eslavos na Universidade de Heidelberga. Sasa Stanisic recebeu diversas bolsas e importantes prémios literários, entre os quais se destacam o prémio Ingborg Bachmann e, em 2008, o prémio Adelbert Von Chamisso e o Heimito-von- Doderer Literaturpreis.
