Sarah Pearse estudou Inglês e Escrita Criativa na Universidade de Warwick e trabalhou numa empresa de relações públicas. Embora atualmente more em South Devon com o marido e as duas filhas, viveu vários anos na Suíça, onde explorou as montanhas junto a Crans Montana, o cenário dramático que inspirou O Sanatório, o seu primeiro romance, a que se seguiu O Retiro e, por fim, O Parque, o derradeiro capítulo da história da detetive Elin Warner.
