Sandra Brown é uma das vozes mais proeminentes da ficção policial americana contemporânea. Entre os vários prémios com que tem vindo a ser galardoada ao longo da carreira, destacam-se o Romance Writers of America’s Lifetime Achievement Award, o Texas Medal of Arts Awards for Literature e o Thriller Master de 2008, a distinção máxima atribuída pela International Thriller Writer’s Association. Já foi presidente da reputada associação Mystery Writers of America. Nascida em Waco, no Texas, Sandra Brown trabalhou como modelo e em programas de televisão antes de se dedicar à escrita. Publicou o seu primeiro romance em 1981 e, desde então, já vendeu cerca de oitenta milhões de exemplares em todo o mundo, estando a sua obra traduzida em trinta e quatro idiomas. Vive com o marido em Arlington, no Texas.
