Samuel Pimenta

Samuel F. Pimenta is a poet and writer. He was born on February 26, 1990, in Alcanhões, Santarém. He began writing at the age of 10 and graduated in Communication Sciences from the Nova University of Lisbon.
She has participated in numerous national and international conferences and literary events, and collaborates with publications in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, and Galicia. Her work is featured in several anthologies, both in Portugal and abroad. Some of her books have been adapted into plays and academic theses. Currently, she writes for the newspaper... Public.
He has received numerous awards, including the 2012 Young Creators Award (Portugal), the 2014 Luís Vaz de Camões Commendation (Brazil), and the 2014 Freedom of Expression Award (Brazil). In 2015, he was one of the winners of the Young Creators Grants from the National Culture Centre, funded by an artistic residency and the writing of a novel. Illuminations of a Free WomanIn 2016, with the book Now, won the IV Glória de Sant'Anna Literary Prize, an annual award for the best book of poetry from Portuguese-speaking countries and regions. In 2019, with Water Rise, won the Almada City Literary Prize.
In addition to literature, she is dedicated to spirituality and the promotion of LGBTI+ rights, human rights, and the rights of the Earth.
