Inspirada pelo seu trabalho como ilustradora de arquitetura, Sam Sharland gosta de criar edifícios e lugares que tenham tanta personalidade quanto as personagens que os habitam.
O amor pela pintura e pela narração de histórias levou Sam a tirar um Mestrado em Ilustração de Livros Infantis na Cambridge School of Art, onde «nasceu» Um Tigre no Hotel.
Adora desenhar ao ar livre, rodeada por pessoas fascinantes e prédios antigos em ruínas. Caso contrário, podemos encontrá-la no seu estúdio, com a caneta na mão e o gato no colo.
