Safaa Dib é filha de imigrantes libaneses e passou grande parte da vida entre Lisboa, Oeiras e Cascais. Desde muito nova, demonstrou uma paixão insaciável por livros que a levou a formar-se em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas, na Faculdade de Letras de Lisboa. Ao longo de uma década, trabalhou no mundo editorial português, onde se especializou em ficção. De natureza irrequieta, pôs fim à sua carreira editorial e fez uma breve passagem pelo mundo da restauração, até finalmente abraçar a política a tempo inteiro. Fez parte da fundação do LIVRE, integrando atualmente o gabinete do partido na Câmara Municipal de Lisboa. Continua ligada ao mundo editorial e organiza o festival de banda desenhada Maia BD, desde 2023. Escreve regularmente crónicas para o Jornal Económico.
