Rute Lourenço nasceu em Faro, em 1982, mas o curso de Jornalismo, na Escola Superior de Comunicação Social, levou-a a mudar-se bem cedo para Lisboa, cidade que a foi apaixonando. Começou a trabalhar como jornalista em 2004, na revista Sábado; passou pelos jornais A Bola e 24 Horas e acabou por se estabelecer na redação do Correio da Manhã, onde foi editora da revista Vidas.
Depois do nascimento da filha, em 2021, soube que estava na altura de abrandar. Passou a trabalhar como freelancer, colaborando atualmente com o site FLASH! e com a revista TV Guia, e conseguiu finalmente arranjar tempo para escrever outro tipo de histórias.
Telhados de vidro é o seu primeiro romance.
