Rui Assis nasceu no Porto, em 1963, onde vive e trabalha. É advogado de profissão desde 1989, colaborando também com várias instituições do ensino superior no ensino pós-graduado. Nos últimos anos tem tido atividade intensa como divulgador da poesia portuguesa, emeventos, tertúlias e nas redes sociais. Tem publicações dispersas de vários poemas seus. "A curva do horizonte" é o seu primeiro livro de poesia.
