Rowan Hisayo Buchanan é uma escritora de múltiplas origens (o pai inglês, a mãe americana e neta materna de um japonês e de uma chinesa) que vive a sua vida entre Londres e Nova Iorque.
Formou-se na universidade de Columbia e mais tarde fez um mestrado em Wisconsin-Maddison.
Atualmente faz o doutoramento na universidade de East Anglia.
Já publicou contos no The Guardian, Granta, The Harvard Review, entre outras publicações.
