Robert M. Edsel é autor dos best-sellers Rescuing Da Vinci e Saving Italy, que narram a ação impressionante da equipa dos Homens dos Monumentos durante a campanha de Itália. Foi também coprodutor do documentário premiado The Rape of Europa. Foi distinguido com a Texas Medal of Arts, o prémio President’s Call to Service e o prémio Hope for Humanity, atribuído pelo Museu do Holocausto de Dallas. É ainda curador do Museu Nacional da Segunda Guerra Mundial em Nova Orleães.
