Rita Alfaiate nasceu em 1992 na cidade de Lisboa.
Licenciada em Pintura na Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, frequenta o mestrado de Desenho na mesma instituição.
Embora a pintura seja um dos seus grandes interesses, é na banda desenhada e na ilustração que encontra a sua principal realização como artista.
O livro No Caderno da Tangerina é a sua primeira publicação no mundo da BD.
