Riku Onda

Riku Onda cresceu em Sendai e estudou na Universidade Waseda. Em 1991 recebeu um prémio pelo seu primeiro romance e desde então tornou-se escritora a tempo inteiro. Em 2003 foi viver para a América do Sul onde fez vários trabalhos sobre as culturas Maia e Inca para o canal televisivo NHK.
Filha de um pai melómano, começou a ouvir música clássica (e a tocar piano) desde muito nova, até descobrir o rock e o jazz ocidentais. Abelhas e Trovoada ao Longe foi o mais celebrado romance no ano da sua publicação, tendo recebido dois grandes prémios literários: o Prémio dos Livreiros Japoneses e o Prémio Naoki Prize (o que nunca tinha acontecido nem viria a acontecer).
