Docente na Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design (ESMAD) e na Escola Superior de Saúde (E2S) do Politécnico do Porto (P.PORTO), onde leciona disciplinas nas áreas da programação e das tecnologias digitais aplicadas à saúde. É responsável pelo Gabinete de Ensino à Distância do Centro de Inovação Pedagógica do P.PORTO e investigador integrado no Centro de Sistemas de Computação Avançada – CRACS (INESC TEC). Tem participado em diversos projetos nacionais e internacionais, com especial enfoque na inovação pedagógica, ensino da programação, Inteligência Artificial e gamificação. Autor de mais de duas centenas de publicações científicas e de vários livros publicados pela FCA nas áreas da programação Web, mobile e gamificação.
