Ricardo Piglia

Ricardo Piglia nasceu em Adrogué, província de Buenos Aires, em 1940. Estudou História na Universidade de La Plata. Dirigiu a Serie Negra, famosa colecção de policiais que divulgou Hammett, Chandler, Goodis e McCoy. Com o músico Gerardo Gandini compôs a ópera La ciudad ausente, baseada no romance agora publicado pela Teorema, que já editou O Último Leitor. A estreia da ópera teve lugar no Teatro Colón em 1995. Conhecido crítico literário e ensaísta, escreveu ensaios sobre Arlt, Borges, Sarmiento, Macedonio Fernández e outros escritores argentinos. É director de investigação e professor honorário da Faculdade de Filosofia e Letras da UBA onde dirige, desde 1990, um seminário sobre "Poéticas de la narración". Actualmente ensina na Princeton University.
