Ricardo Fonseca
António Ricardo Fonseca, originally from Baião, holds a degree in Economics from FEP – Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto.
He began his professional career in Auditing at ITT – International Telegraph and TelephoneHe then pursued a management career, primarily in the transport sector. He served as Director of STCP – Sociedade de Transportes Coletivos do Porto (Porto Public Transport Company), President of APDL – Administração dos Portos do Douro e Leixões (Douro and Leixões Ports Administration), and President of Metro do Porto. He was also an advisor to the Macau government and Vice-President of TDM – Televisão de Macau (Macau Television).
FEP awarded him the Career Prize / 2008. The Porto Commercial Association, in 2006, awarded him the Institution's Silver Medal. Vila Nova de Gaia, in 2004, and Matosinhos and Porto, in 2016, distinguished him with the Medal of Merit, gold grade.
His interest in photography began during his student days. Initially, as a member of the AFP – Associação Fotográfica do Porto (Porto Photographic Association), he participated extensively in competitions. Later, he focused more on preparing solo exhibitions or participating in group shows. He is the author of several photography books in which the Orient is the dominant theme.
