Nasceu em Luanda em 1974. Viveu nos arredores de Lisboa, em Macau, em Amesterdão e em Londres. De momento vive em Tóquio com a mulher da sua vida. Escreveu os livros infantis Os monstrinhos da roupa suja e Minimini, o livro de contos Os chouriços são todos para assar e os romances Depois de morrer aconteceram-me muitas coisas, Maria dos Canos Serrados, Tóquio vive longe da terra, e Mizé, antes galdéria do que normal remediada.
Para o cinema e a televisão escreveu Sara, vencedora de melhor série nos prémios Sophia e SPA 2019, e a longa metragem São Jorge, premiada no 73.º Festival de Cinema de Veneza. A sua obra está publicada de Portugal ao Japão.
