Geóloga de profissão e doutorada na área da Sedimentologia, Teresa Mira de Azevedo, exerceu durante 37 anos atividades de investigação e docência no Departamento de Geologia da FCUL. Desde cedo se questionou sobre a razão da Existência, tendo-se dedicado à pesquisa da Filosofia Hermética, Sufismo e Rosacruz, da qual resultou a publicação dos livros: "A Vida Misteriosa de René Descartes" (2015) e "Descartes e a Libertação do Erro" (2022). Realizou também numerosas apresentações em bibliotecas, sobre temas como Sufismo e Ocidente, Mulheres de Luz, Os Poetas do Amor- sabedoria viva na literatura libanesa, além de ter organizado ao longo de sete anos, o Ciclo "Quintas da Ciência" na BMRR e desde 2020 o Ciclo "Horizontes da Ciência", na BA.
