Ramiro Calle
Ramiro Calle studied the therapeutic effects of Eastern psychologies and explored the connections between meditation and psychoanalysis, psychotherapy and neurology. A professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid, he was the first to promote medical research on yoga in Spain, in collaboration with medical specialists, and to teach yoga, relaxation, and meditation techniques as a way to prevent and combat psychosomatic problems. A pioneer in yoga education in Spain, a discipline he has taught for over 30 years, he is the director of the Shadak Yoga and Orientalism Center, the largest yoga center in Spain. He is considered one of the most important orientalist writers in Spain. His more than 70 trips to Asia have allowed him to interview the most relevant specialists, masters, and orientalists, experiences that he includes in his books on orientalism and self-help, read by millions of readers worldwide. Ramiro Calle regularly collaborates with magazines, newspapers, and television.
