Rafael Chirbes

Rafael Chirbes nasceu em Tavernes de Valldigna, Valência, em 1949. Estudou História Moderna e Contemporânea em Madrid e foi finalista do Prémio Herralde, em 1988, com o seu primeiro romance, Mimoun. Em 1996 foi galardoado com o Prémio SWR-Bestenliste, na Alemanha, com La Larga Marcha. É autor de uma obra singular que está publicada em diversos países e que tem vindo a ser premiada e elogiada pela crítica. Foram publicados em Portugal  os seus livros Os Disparos do Caçador, Crematório, Na Margem e, agora, Paris-Austerlitz. Faleceu a 15 de agosto de 2015.
