Philippe Besson é um destacado romancista, dramaturgo e guionista francês, nascido em 1967. Conta com mais de vinte livros publicados, muitos deles adaptados ao cinema e ao teatro e traduzidos para várias línguas. A sua obra literária, cuja publicação se iniciou em 2001, foi várias vezes premiada, nomeadamente com o Prémio Emmanuel-Roblès para o seu romance de estreia, En l’absence des hommes, e o Grande Prémio RTL-Lire para a obra L’Arrière-saison, de 2002. Besson participa também na escrita de guiões para cinema e televisão. O romance «Arrête avec tes mensonges» (Deixa-te de Mentiras), de 2017, recebeu diversos prémios e distinções e obteve um grande êxito internacional.
