Nasceu em Düsseldorf em 1978. Depois de ter vivido no oeste, leste e norte da Alemanha, vive atualmente em Munique com o marido e uma cabeça cheia de ideias. Faz traduções de inglês e francês, devora romances islandeses no original e edita ficção e não-ficção alemãs excecionais. No âmbito da sua carreira profissional, passou seis meses em Upstate, Nova Iorque. Em 2013, ganhou a Bolsa de Literatura de Munique para a publicação de um romance.
