Peter Kelder
Peter Kelder was raised by adoptive parents in the United States and, as a teenager, left home to embark on adventures.
He became an educated man, fluent in many languages, and was, throughout his life, passionate about books. Kelder stated that Colonel Bradford—the pseudonym of the main character in this book—was a real individual who had actually been to Tibet, and that he had met him personally in the 1930s in Southern California, where the book was written.
However, Kelder was an extremely private man who refused to reveal more than these brief details to the public. He felt that the book spoke for itself and that questions regarding its author and Colonel Bradford would only distract from the value of its simple and direct message.
