Peter Furtado é licenciado em História pela Universidade de Oxford e um reconhecido especialista na área, desde a antiguidade até aos nossos dias. Depois de alguns anos dedicado à investigação académica, foi editor da reconhecida revista britânica History Today durante dez anos. Como autor e editor publicou diversas obras de referência sobre a História Mundial, incluindo o bestseller Histories of Nations: How Their Identities Were Forged, e Great Cities Through Travellers' Eyes.
