Percy Sykes

Percy Molesworth Sykes (28 de fevereiro de 1867 a 11 de junho de 1945), foi soldado, diplomata e académico, com vasta produção literária. Foi membro medalhado de ouro da Royal Geography Society e autor de várias obras históricas, geográficas e biográficas, bem como de diários das suas viagens pela Pérsia e Ásia Central, muitas das quais na companhia da irmã, Ella Constance Sykes, também ela membro da Royal Geography Society e especialista em assuntos persas. Sykes reformou-se do exército em 1924, mantendo o posto honorário de brigadeiro-general. De 1932 até à sua morte, foi secretário honorário da Royal Central Asian Society, hoje conhecida como Royal Society for Asian Affairs e que possui um prémio denominado The Sir Percy Sykes Memorial Medal.
