Pedro Homem de Mello

Pedro Homem de Mello nasceu no Porto em 1904. Licenciado em Direito pela Universidade de Lisboa, teve uma breve carreira como advogado, tendo-se dedicado posteriormente ao ensino do português em escolas técnicas da cidade onde nasceu. Pertenceu à geração dos escritores presencistas, e foi na poesia que mais destaque alcançou. Há que realçar, ainda, o seu contributo dado ao estudo do folclore português. Pela sua vasta obra foi distinguido com o Prémio Antero de Quental (1940) e o Prémio Nacional de Poesia (1973). Morreu a 5 de março de 1984.
