Pedro Gargantilla Madera (Madrid, 1972). Médico, escritor e divulgador científico. Diretor de Medicina Interna do Hospital do Escorial e professor de História da Medicina na Universidade Francisco de Vitoria. Colaborador habitual em programas de rádio, escreve semanalmente na secção digital de ciência do jornal diário espanhol ABC e, desde há muitos anos, na revista Clío. É autor de mais de uma vintena de livros, entre os quais se destacam os ensaios históricos Enfermedades de los reyes de España. Los Austrias (2005), Las enfermedades de los Borbones (2007), Enfermedades que cambiaron la historia (2016) e História Curiosa da Medicina (2019). Além disso, é autor do romance histórico El médico judío (2008), todos publicados por La Esfera de Los Libros.
