Pedro David Gomes

Pedro David Gomes é sociólogo e investigador do Centro Interdisciplinar de Ciências Sociais da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (CICS.NOVA). Tem desenvolvido trabalho sobre as relações entre cultura popular – especialmente música e desporto – e política na história colonial e pós-colonial de Angola, com especial interesse sobre as suas conexões transnacionais.
É autor de publicações sobre a história do desporto em Angola e em Portugal, bem como sobre a música angolana nos dois países, além de estudos sobre a emigração irregular portuguesa. Participou em vários projetos de investigação financiados pela FCT, entre os quais Cultura Popular e Império: As lutas pela conquista do consumo cultural em Portugal e nas suas colónias (ICS-UL). Integra ainda o conselho editorial da revista Leisure Studies.
