Pedro Cabral é neurologista pediátrico, dedicando-se desde os anos 80 à epilepsia e à neurologia do desenvolvimento. Especializou-se em Neurologia no Hospital de Egas Moniz. Foi bolseiro da Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento na Universidade Católica de Lovaina. Em Lisboa, exerceu as funções de assistente hospitalar de Neurologia Pediátrica no Instituto Português de Oncologia e no Hospital Dona Estefânia e de chefe de serviço no Hospital de São Francisco Xavier. Foi consultor de Neurologia Pediátrica na Liga Portuguesa dos Deficientes Motores, no Hospital de São Roque (Misericórdia), no Hospital do Espírito Santo de Évora e diretor clínico do CADin. Dirigiu o Departamento de Neurociências no Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Ocidental e é coordenador do Centro de Referência de Epilepsia Refratária do Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Ocidental / Centro Hospital Universitário Lisboa Central.
