Doutorada em Engenharia Alimentar pelo Instituto Superior de Agronomia da Universidade de Lisboa, Professora Coordenadora no Departamento de Indústrias Alimentares da Escola Superior Agrária (ESAV) do Instituto Politécnico de Viseu. Foi Presidente da ESAV, Presidente da Assembleia de Representantes, Vice-presidente do Conselho Pedagógico da ESAV, atualmente é diretora do curso de licenciatura em Engenharia Alimentar.
Investigadora em diversos projetos Nacionais e Internacionais. É autora e coautora de inúmeros artigos científicos, de capítulos e diversos livros.
