Paula Lopes

Paula Lopes (born in Lisbon, 1967).
She holds a PhD in Sociology from ISCTE-IUL (2014), a degree and a master's degree in Communication Sciences from the Autonomous University of Lisbon (UAL), and a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Advertising from IADE.
An integrated researcher at the Centre for Communication and Society Studies at the University of Minho (CECS-UM), she has been developing research on media, journalism, media literacy and its relationship with citizenship practices.
She was a journalist, journalism instructor at CENJOR, communications advisor/consultant, and cultural programmer.
She has been a professor in the Department of Communication Sciences at the Autonomous University of Lisbon since 1996.
