Nascido em 1962, Pasquale Ruju entra na equipa de autores de Dylan Dog em 1995, escrevendo um curto episódio, e estreia-se na sua série mensal em maio de 1997 com Il richiamo della foresta, desenhado por Luigi Piccatto. Em seguida, escreve para Nathan Never, Martin Mystère e Tex, série onde se irá estrear no ano de 2004. Firma-se na série a partir de 2010 com a aventura La prova del fuoco, desenhada por Ernesto García Seijas. Desde há uns anos é um dos autores mais prolíficos de Tex. Em 2016, publica para Edizioni E/O o seu primeiro romance, Un caso come gli altri, que se torna finalista do Premio Scerbanenco (que distingue o melhor policial publicado em cada ano em Itália) em 2016. Em 2017 e 2018 publica, ainda para Edizioni E/O, os romances Nero di mare e Stagione di cenere, ambos protagonizados pelo repórter Franco Zanna.
