Pablo d’Ors nasceu em Madrid, em 1963. É padre, filósofo, teólogo, escritor e crítico literário. Foi professor de dramaturgia e de estética teológica na Universidade Complutense e noutros institutos de estudos superiores de Espanha e da Argentina. Além de livros de ensaio, publicou romances e um livro de narrativas curtas. Em 2014, assumiu o cargo de conselheiro cultural do Conselho Pontifício para a Cultura (Pontificium Consilium de Cultura), por nomeação expressa do papa Francisco. Em 2019, a Quetzal publicou a sua obra O Amigo do Deserto.
