Ottessa Moshfegh é uma escritora de ficção nascida na Nova Inglaterra, nos Estados Unidos da América. A sua mãe nasceu na Croácia e o pai no Irão. Com Eileen, o seu primeiro romance, venceu o PEN/Hemingway Award e foi finalista do National Book Critics Circle Award e do Man Booker Prize. O Meu Ano de Repouso e de Relaxamento e Death in Her Hands, os seus segundo e terceiro romances, foram ambos sucessos de vendas e aclamados pela crítica. É também autora da coleção de contos Homesick for Another World e da novela McGlue. Em 2022 publicou o romance Lapvona. Vive atualmente no sul da Califórnia.
