Oia Eng cresceu em Xangai, Taipei, New Hampshire e Toronto. Interessou-se desde muito cedo pelo movimento F.I.R.E (Independência Financeira, Reforma Antecipada) depois de ler o livro «Pai Rico, Pai Pobre», de Robert Kiyosaki e «4 Horas por Semana», de Tim Ferriss. Está atualmente a aumentar os seus fluxos de renda passiva para alcançar a independência financeira cedo, para que possa perseguir as suas paixões sem limites.
