Nasceu em Matosinhos em 1978, estudou História e foi arqueólogo. Vive em Paris, onde é consultor editorial e divulgador da literatura lusófona na rádio e na imprensa escrita. Corre todos os dias com o seu cão ao longo do Sena e a sua prioridade é ensinar os dois filhos a falar português.
Zalatune é o seu quarto romance, depois de O Homem Domesticado (2017) - cuja tradução será publicada em França em 2021 -, O Dia em Que o Sol Se Apagou (2015) - finalista do Prémio Leya - e de O Soldado Sabino (2012), obra traduzida e publicada em França.
