Nuno Duarte

Nuno Duarte was born in Lisbon on January 18, 1975.
He studied Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Cambridge.
He taught English in Santarém and Lisbon, turning to writing and screenwriting since 1999, working as an editor and screenwriter at an animation company. Magic Toons.

At the same time, some short comics were published in various publications, such as "Genesis" (with Ana Freitas in the magazine Selecções BD 1st series #18, 2000), "Jazz" (with Matt Ryan in the Canadian anthology) Hallucination Studios Anthology Collection, 2000), "Send me a fax" (with Pepedelrey in the anthology) Mutate & Survive (from Chili con Carne, 2001), "Technoverse 1" and "Techoverse 2" (with Ana Freitas and Pedro Potier in Brazilian anthologies) Technorama Jawbreaker – Volumes 2 and 3, 2005 and 2010), "Mega" (with Pepedelrey in the anthology) Popular Bedside Table #200, 2006), "Low Battery" and "Omega" (with Osvaldo Medina and Ricardo Venâncio in the anthology) Crumbs (from Kingpin, 2014), "Cloud" (with Osvaldo Medina in the Brazilian anthology) "Machine Zero", 2015) and "I will love you until I hate you" (with Osvaldo Medina in the French anthology) Escalier Cage #4, 2017).
In 2013, the author received the National Comic Book Award from the Amadora International Comic Book Festival in the category of Best Screenplay for a Portuguese Album for the work... The Ball, also winner of the Best Portuguese Album award. In the same year, the Professional Comics Award had already awarded the author with the Screenwriter of the Year Award and the work with Album of the Year. The comic book "Omega" Duarte and Venâncio's work was awarded the Excellence in Short Comic Book Creation Prize by Comic Con Portugal in 2015.
