Niall Ferguson

Niall Ferguson is one of Britain's most renowned historians. He is a Professor of History, holding the Laurence A. Tisch Chair at Harvard University, a senior researcher at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and a visiting professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing. He has published Paper and Iron, The House of Rothschild, Empire, The War of the World, The Ascent of Money, High Financier, Civilization, and The Great Degeneration, among others. Temas e Debates has published The Logic of Money (2015), Colossus (2015), and Kissinger - 1923-1968: The Idealist (2016).

He also wrote and presented six highly successful television series on Channel Four: Empire, American Colossus, The War of the World, The Ascent of Money, Civilization, and China: Triumph and Turmoil. In 2009, The Ascent of Money won an International Emmy Award for Best Documentary. Kissinger, a feature-length film based on his interviews with Henry Kissinger, won the award for best documentary at the New York Film Festival. Among his many awards and distinctions are the Benjamin Franklin Public Service Award (2010), the Hayek Award for Lifetime Achievement (2012), and the Ludwig Erhard Award for Economic Journalism (2013).
