Nelson Marques foi jornalista durante mais de duas décadas, tendo passado pelas redações do Expresso, onde foi coordenador da Revista, e do Público. Colaborou ainda com a SIC e a RTP, e escreveu em algumas das mais prestigiadas publicações internacionais, como The Guardian, El Mundo, The Jerusalem Post e Época.
